At the core of the Form Studio 1 is Formlabs' updated Low Force Display (LFD) light engine. By combining a high-power light source with dynamic anti-aliasing and precise release force management, the printer reduces stress on delicate part features during layer peel steps. Integrated sensors continuously manage print parameters to deliver high print success rates across all compatible materials.
The Integrated 4-Step Ecosystem Workflow:
- Prepare & Print: Import CAD models into PreForm software to generate optimised supports and print settings. Insert your resin cartridge and let the printer's automated resin system fill the tank hands-free.
- Automated Part Removal: When printing complete, instantly pop parts off the optional Build Platform Flex using integrated Quick Release Technology without needing metal scrapers.
- Agitated Solvent Wash: Lower the build platform directly into the Form Studio Wash+Cure basin. An internal impeller circulates solvent (IPA, TPM, or Resin Washing Solution) to clean surfaces, automatically raising the basket post-wash to air dry and prevent over-soaking.
- UV Curing: Insert the stowable glass turntable into the same Wash+Cure chamber. Powerful 405 nm LED lights rotate around the part to complete post-curing, maximising final tensile strength and thermal resistance.

Form Studio Wash+Cure
A compact, all-in-one washing and curing unit designed to complete the Form Studio 1 setup. By combining post-processing into a single compact footprint, it conserves workbench space and accelerates part finishing.
- Washing: A removable basin holds parts mounted directly on the build platform or inside the internal basket. An impeller agitates solvent (IPA, TPM, or Resin Washing Solution), after which the basket automatically raises to let parts air dry.
- Curing: A stowable glass turntable drops into the chamber, rotating parts under 405 nm UV light for complete exposure to boost mechanical strength, toughness, and heat deflection.
VOC Extractor
An external filtration unit that mounts directly to the printer to filter volatile organic compounds during active printing. It is the key component that unlocks UL GREENGUARD Gold certification on Form Studio 1 with Alpha Resins, and is also backward-compatible with Form 4 and Form 4B setups.
- Carbon Filtration: Air passes through a pre-filter and dual activated carbon HEPA filters. Filters last approximately 330 print hours and swap out in seconds.
- Variable Flow Settings: Features 3 adjustable speeds (7, 12, and 19 CFM) to adapt to hose length and material types.
