Formlabs Form Studio Wash+Cure Rinse Bucket
What is the Form Studio Wash+Cure Rinse Bucket?
The Form Studio Wash+Cure Rinse Bucket is an essential post-processing accessory designed to enable a dedicated two-stage washing workflow for the Form Studio 1 ecosystem. When cleaning resin 3D prints, washing solvent quickly becomes saturated with liquid photopolymer, leaving a thin chemical film on parts. Adding a secondary rinse bucket ensures that parts transition from a primary bulk wash into a clean solvent bath, yielding crisp, residue-free surfaces ready for post-curing.
Supplied as a complete secondary wash kit, it includes a durable wash bucket with an airtight lid to prevent solvent evaporation, an internal basket for holding and draining parts, and a solvent squeeze bottle for precision flushing of internal channels and cavities. It can also be kept on hand as a spare bucket to quickly switch between different resin colors or solvent types without draining your main tank.
Key Features at a Glance
- Enables Two-Stage Washing: Provides a separate bath for secondary rinsing to eliminate sticky surface films and cloudy post-cure residue.
- Complete Cleaning Kit: Includes the wash bucket, tight-fitting evaporation lid, removable part basket, and a precision squeeze bottle.
- Precision Channel Flushing: Use the included squeeze bottle to flush trapped liquid resin out of complex internal geometries and blind holes.
- Airtight Solvent Lid: Keeps volatile solvents enclosed to prevent evaporation, minimize workshop odors, and maintain laboratory safety.
- Broad Chemical Compatibility: Fully compatible with Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA), TPM, and Formlabs Resin Washing Solution.
Why Choose a Dedicated Rinse Bucket?
Upgrade part cleanliness, extend solvent life, and achieve professional surface finishes across all your resin prints.
Residue-Free Surfaces
Single-stage washes redeposit dissolved resin onto parts as solvent saturates. A secondary rinse strips away remaining residue, preventing tacky surfaces and white salt-like curing marks.
Extends Solvent Lifespan
By doing the heavy cleaning in your primary wash tank and finishing in the rinse bucket, your clean solvent stays fresher longer—reducing your total solvent consumption and operating costs.
Precision Internal Flushing
The included squeeze bottle allows direct jetting into miniature channels, screw threads, and internal fluid paths that standard agitation alone cannot reach.
Rapid Material Separation
Dedicate different buckets to specific resin colors or chemistries (such as separating Clear resins from dark pigments) to eliminate cross-contamination between print runs.
How It Works: Technology & Two-Stage Workflow
In resin 3D printing, clean solvent is the secret to flawless surface finishes. A two-stage washing system separates the washing cycle into two sequential steps: a Primary Wash to dissolve the bulk uncured resin, followed by a Secondary Rinse to flush away any diluted resin film.
Recommended 4-Step Two-Stage Washing Workflow:
- Primary Wash: Mount your printed parts or build platform into the main Form Studio Wash+Cure unit. Run an automated agitation cycle to dissolve the heavy liquid resin.
- Targeted Rinse: Transfer parts to the Rinse Bucket. Use the included solvent squeeze bottle to flush delicate blind holes, deep cavities, and fine surface details with fresh solvent.
- Secondary Rinse: Submerge parts in the clean solvent of the Rinse Bucket to wash away any remaining chemical sheen.
- Drain & Dry: Lift the internal basket into its raised position to let solvent drain back into the bucket and allow parts to air dry completely before 405 nm UV curing.
Solvent Rotation Strategy:
When your primary wash solvent reaches saturation, dispose of it responsibly. Shift your secondary rinse bucket to become your new primary wash tank, and fill your newly cleaned bucket with fresh solvent as your clean secondary rinse. This rotation method cuts overall solvent consumption nearly in half.
